What a great idea for a book!!! I’m definitely getting a copy and can’t wait for it to come out. Enjoy the research!

Funny, my lola (Filipino for grandmother) used to make fried chicken like Auntie Neneng’s ;-)

Just wanted to say, love the blog and looking forward to the book — and sending copies back to the ‘ohana’ in Honolulu.

    thank you!

    Hi Pat,

How are you? Congrats with the book! Saw an IJ friend post it on facebook…. well done! Do you know if your book sells in Singapore?

Audrey, unfortunately the book isn’t being distributed outside the U.S. And my publisher doesn’t have a relationship with Borders anymore which has a presence in Singapore. The best way is to order it is via amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com and have it shipped internationally. Hope you can get it!

I have your book on my Wish List. Hope to get it at Christmas!!! Wondered if you Mum’s Fried Chicken recipe is in the cookbook or will you post it someday. I did a search on your site, but didn’t see it, just your Aunty’s Joy Chicken recipe. It looks very good and easy!!! :) :) :)

    Hi Barbara,
Depends on which fried chicken recipe you’re thinking of :) . I do have an Indonesian cookbook in the works and at least one of her fried chicken recipes will be in there. Hope you get the book for Christmas!
    Cheers, Pat

I love your cookbook. Many of the food you described are things i grew up with in Hawaii. If you ever decide to write another volume, i would be happy to share some of my grandmother’s recipes.

I am also a Husky. Go Dawgs!

    Hi Kayleen,
I’m so glad you like my cookbook! If you’d like to share some of your recipes and stories on this site, please email me. And yeah, “Go Dawgs!” (Although I was never a football fan :) ). Cheers, Pat
